[Make] Personalized Super Hero Pops

Last year when I saw an awesome super hero Valentine's lollipop from zakka life, I bookmarked the free download that she graciously offered.

Since then, these "super" pops have been everywhere! I've seen them on a ton of blogs and if you read FamilyFun magazine you've probably seen them there too.

BTW, if you foresee a Super Hero birthday party in your future, she also offers up a free Non-Valentine's version.

So I made a few super hero pops using the cute mask, and also made some "personalized" ones for Happy Vee's preschool class.  With a little photoshop magic, it was an easy project.

Before we get to the "how to", here's me playing with Photoshop...  :)

Sorry about that... I get a little carried away sometimes.  :)

If you have Photoshop, here's a quick and easy way to get your own "Personalized" Super Hero Pops.

Take a photo of your masked crusader (preferably in a bright but shady spot)--

Download the photo to your computer and open it in Photoshop
(Click the File menu and select "Open...").

Then go back to the File menu and select "New"- "Blank File..."
For the Preset, choose "default photoshop elements size"
Adjust the width/height until it is in a photo-friendly size (4x6, 5x7 or 8x10)
Leave the default Background Contents as "white"--

Go back to the photo (you'll see it in the Project Bin) and use the "Magnetic Lasso Tool" to highlight your hero's head.  There will be a string of what looks like "flashing ants" around your selection.
 "Copy" the selection--

Then go to your New File and "Paste" your hero's head.
Resize the head so that it is around 1 inch wide.
Copy and paste the resized head until you have the desired amount
(12 heads comfortably fit in a 4x6 photo).
Click Layer menu and select "Flatten Image".

Save your project as a JPG file (File - "Save as..."- "Format": JPEG)
Print your photo or send it off to be developed...
Then cut out your hero head and paste it onto a lollipop.
Tah Dah!

Yes buddy, all done!
