Man in the Coffee Beans

Just because stuff like this cracks me up...
Can you find the man?

Doctors have concluded that if you find the man in the coffee beans in 3 seconds, the right half of your brain is better developed than most people.

If you find the man between 3 seconds and 1 minute, the right half of your brain is developed normally.

If you find the man between 1 minute and 3 minutes, then the right half of your brain is functioning slowly.

If you have not found the man after 3 minutes, look for more of this type of exercise to make that part of the brain stronger. And, yes, the man is really there!

Okay, you  probably shouldn't measure your brain's effectiveness by a test on the internet, but for pure entertainment's sake... Why not?  Apparently the right half of my brain is normal.  Phew! (big sigh of relief!)  ;)

Oh Martha Monday - Decorating with Rope

I've been seeing a lot of rope projects around the blogosphere lately-- rope baskets, rope lampshades, rope vessels, etc.  so I knew that Martha would have a unique take on using rope to create that cool beach house look. I like that rope decor adds a subtle nautical touch without being as obvious as shells and starfish-- nothing wrong with shells and starfish, but there is a limit... right?  So getting on with it, here are a few ideas that inspire...

ugly lamp?  no problem!  love this quick fix.
rope lamp

hmmm... perhaps a bit too complex for my blood, but i love the look.

rope bookends
with a heavier base, these would make good door stoppers too

Have a wonderful week!

Bubble Birthday Party

This weekend we celebrated Happy Vee's 3rd Birthday with a Bubble Party.  He was thrilled!  Every day for the last couple of weeks he would ask about his "party with friends".  The birthday presents and the sweets were nice, but more importantly, he was excited to have a big playdate with his favorite friends and family.

i glued the circles to transluscent thread and hung the banner on the mantel with clear hooks

the "bubble art" were created with satin balloons mounted to bubble wrap
