[Make] Dixie Cup Garland

I originally intended for these dixie cup lights to be a Christmas project.  I first blogged about them last August and I've had them in the back of my mind ever since. I was just going to wait until December rolled around again... But then the other day, when I was rummaging around my craft room, I saw the string lights and dixie cups and decided to break them out-- Why wait? String lights aren't just for the holidays anymore, right?

Initially, I was going to cover the cups in burlap or muslin, but I actually like the design on the cups (go figure) and left them alone.
Easy and no fuss. I cut the cups and my little helpers easily attached them to the lights.
My kind of project!

And just a thought-- You could easily recreate these Pottery Barn Happy Easter string lights by covering the cups with muslin and adding letters-- stencils, stamps or stickers would all work.  I haven't figured out my Easter Mantel so I've left mine plain for now.

 Happy Creating!
