Make // Easy Jack-O-Lantern Planter

I have to admit that I'm not feeling Fall just yet, so I decided to ease into the upcoming season with an easy project.

Since the weather is still warm and dry, it's the perfect time to break out the metallic spray paint. Did you know that you can't use metallic spray paints when the temperature dips below 70 degrees Fahrenheit? I've tried it before and the paint bubbles up and turns into a hot mess.

Gold Jack-O-Lantern Planter

Materials needed:
old/cheap jack-o-lantern bucket
primer that adheres to plastic - i used this one
gold spray paint - my favorite gold paint is this one

Instructions:
Here's the world's simplest tutorial.   :)

Take your plastic jack-o-lantern bucket and, if necessary, trim off any rough edges. I just used a cheap pair of scissors to trim the edges of the rim. Remove the handle.

Spray the bucket with a couple of coats of white primer. Make sure to use a primer that adheres to plastic. Let it dry.

Lightly spray your bucket with several light layers of gold spray paint. Make sure that the air temperature is between 70-90 degrees or the paint won't perform the way that you want it to. Let it dry. Replace the handle if desired and you have your planter.

Props to my anthurium that has stuck with me for the last 8 months and, aside from a few brown tips, is still looking pretty alive. I think that may be the last bloom for awhile though.  :)

Have a great week!
