Happy 2013!

2013. A new year, a new beginning.  There is something refreshing about that.

What do you think about the odd number?  I like it.  I find that the best things happen on odd-numbered years.  Probaby just my perception since I was born on an odd-numbered year, got married on an odd-numbered year and am married to someone who has had many birthdays on Friday the 13th... dah-dah-dum....  Not to mention several major world events (mainly wars) coming to an end on odd-number years.  I know, I'm grasping... I have hope though that 2013 is a peaceful and healing year.

Have a wonderful and safe New Year!

New Year's Eve Ideas

How do you celebrate the Eve of a New Year? Do you go out? Do you stay home? Friends or Family or Both? Here are some fun DIY ideas from around the web.

new year's eve countdown bags. i'm going to attempt to put this together for the boys... but secretly i'm hoping they don't make it past 9 pm.  :)

happy new years card... this is great if you didn't get your christmas cards out in time

As for us, since having kids, we're homebodies... which I enjoy.  I always found that although New Year's Eve is marketed as being the pinnacle of celebrations... it would usually fall flat.  Too expensive, too crowded and someone always ends up spilling on your favorite shoes.  Am I right?

When the kids are a little older, I'd love to throw a family-friendly New Years Eve bash, but until then...  it's all about our little family of 4 staying up late (or at least trying to) and cuddling on the couch while listening to good music and nibbling on yummy snacks.  Can't think of a better way to ring in the New Year!

Have a Safe & Happy New Year!

Top 10 of 2010

I'm not really a "numbers" person, but I've been told that numbers don't lie, so here are our
Top Ten posts of 2010
(according to Google Analytics)

I've been blogging for a year now and it has been a wonderful experience.  I'm still in "blog & run" mode since my young charges demand (and deserve) my full attention, but this little project has become an important part of my personal life.  Having this creative outlet allows me to imagine, motivates me to follow through on projects and encourages me to think outside the box. Thank you so much for reading along and sharing in my little piece of sanity.

See you next year!

XOXO

Oh Martha Monday - New Year's Prep

Some fun (martha-esque) ideas to ring in the New Year...

the details are here

Are you ready for 2011?  I'm still in shock that Christmas has come and gone.  I think I'll be able to refocus once the Christmas decor comes down (sniff).

Have a happy (and hopefully quiet) Monday!
