Summer Kids {Homemade Play Doh}

According to Phineas and Ferb, "there's 104 days of summer vacation", I haven't counted to see if that's actually true, but I know there's quite a few days that I need to keep the boys busy and out of trouble entertained.  One of the activities that keeps Happy Vee busy for long stretches of time is playing and creating with Play Doh.  And he doesn't know it, but it's also good for developing those fine motor skills, so it's a win-win situation.

Instead of buying tons of that stinky name-brand stuff, I just raid my pantry.  I've tried many recipes, but this is the only one that uses ingredients that I already have onhand and  lasts for quite a while. This recipe makes enough play doh for 2 kids, but you may want to double the recipe if you have play doh hoarding children like mine.

The Recipe:
1 cup flour :: 1 cup water :: 1 Tbsp oil :: 1 tsp. cream of tartar :: 1/2 cup salt :: food coloring

the new pink play doh kept Happy Vee busy for 1 hour.  woo hoo!
