I think they'd be cute to pair with jeans, but what I love most it that there is a social benefit to buying these comfortably, stylish shoes. The "One for One" concept is simply amazing-- With every pair of shoes purchased, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. Simple as that. Business at its best.

My Latest Crush- TOMS Shoes

Just saw your kitchen link at Remodelholic. Wow! It's beautiful. I was wondering if you did the cabinet refinishing yourselves, or if you had a contractor do it. I'm looking for tips, as our cabinets currently look like your "before" pictures, and I want the "after" look! I'd appreciated any info...thanks. Shar
ReplyDeleteThanks Shar! Fine steel wool (grade 0000) worked well on our cabinets. It got rid of the shine (varnish? polyurathane?) and left a smooth satin surface. Hope that helps and best of luck on your reno.
ReplyDeleteDid you re-stain after the steel wool, or just poly? (and if I can be even pushier, what kind of stain/poly?) Thanks for your help! I may be on my way to a BIG summer project!! ;)
ReplyDeleteWe did not restain but a coat of Satin poly was applied after the steel wool. I don't have the brand name since the contractor who was touching up our banister did the job for us (all the projects were taking longer than we thought so we had to speed it up!). The cabinets looked good after the steel wool, but we decided to add the poly to protect against moisture, heat, etc.
